This small map focuses on the Pennsylvania Railroad, which was founded in 1846. It shows existing railroads from the Eastern Seaboard west to St. Louis, Missouri, Chicago, Illinois, and Mackinaw, Michigan. On verso is information on railroad stocks and bonds. The Pennsylvania Railroad completed the initial line from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh in 1854 and was the largest railroad in the United States by the early 1880s.
