This rare pictorial map was published by Lowell E. Jones in San Diego. It playfully depicts the vicinity of Huntington Lake, high in the Sierra Nevadas of Central California, with numerous recreational activities depicted including fishing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, and more. Small signs locate points of interest including Kaiser Peak, Twin Lakes, a Boy Scout Camp, Ranger Station to name a few. The verso contains an attractive and busy pictorial map of the entire state with many of its varied treasures captured through humorous vignettes. Self-folding into pictorial wrappers (5.5 x 8.0"). There is only one past sales record and one institutional example located (the Rumsey reference above).
