A. Map of Norfolk, Fortress Monroe, Craney Island, Sewall's Point, &c. [in] The Philadelphia Inquirer, published 1862 (9.2 x 7.7"). On a full sheet of text measuring 15.4 x 20.6". This 8-page issue from 21 February 1862 features a map of Hampton Roads, showing Fortress Monroe and the camps of the Union and Rebel soldiers. The routes of the gunboats at night and the Rebel tugs are delineated. This map was published just two weeks before the Battle of Hampton Roads. References: Wooldridge #262. Condition: Light soiling and toning. (B+)

B. The Battle-Field Before Williamsburg [in] New-York Daily Tribune, published 1862 (9.7 x 9.8"). On a full sheet of text measuring 15.7 x 20.6". This 12-page issue from 13 May 1862 centers on the battlefield from the Battle of Williamsburg, which took place just one week prior to the publication of this issue. Fort Magruder is shown along with the locations of the Union and Rebel troops. Roads, forests, and the locations of cannons are also shown. References: Wooldridge #271. Condition: Clean and bright.
