This densely engraved map of Turkey extends to include Cyprus and part of Crete. The map is filled with classical place names, political boundaries, and the river systems in the area. The lovely title cartouche is in the form of a partially rolled rug. Engraved by Jean Sommer. Dated 1652 but published in 1667 by Pierre Mariette.

A sharp impression with contemporary outline color in the map and later color in the cartouche, on a bright sheet with a large coat of arms watermark and just a hint of toning along the centerfold.
