This lot features two versions of progress maps showing the first major construction of telegraph lines in the Philippines:
A. Progress Map of Signal Corps Telegraph Lines & Cables in the Military Division of the Philippines..., dated 1901 (20.2 x 41.9"). A large map with red overprinting identifying telegraph lines, cables, and the "Eastern Extension, Australasia and China Telegraph Co.'s Cables." 26 cables are named at top. In addition to the communications information, the map shows topography with an excellent three-dimensional perspective.
B. Progress Map of Signal Corps Telegraph Lines and Cables in the Military Division of the Philippines, dated 1905 (14.8 x 26.9"). A reduced and updated version of the map above.
