An interesting pair of miniature maps each with the same title except for the final line, which defines the differences between the maps. The one on the left shows the world per French cartographers, while the other depicts the Dutch version. Both show California as an island, but there are many subtle differences in the maps. The French are much bolder in their depiction of the northwestern North America. A fascinating comparison between the two important schools of the period. Maps are printed side by side on a single, unfolded sheet. Each map has its own plate mark.

There is a bit of light soil, mostly in blank margins. A chip in the bottom right corner has been replaced with old paper, not affecting map.
