This remarkable lot consists of a complete run of the Automobile Club of Southern California (ACSC) strip maps from #1-135 (most dated 1920), along with #200 -203 showing the route from Los Angeles to Ely, and #250-254 showing the route from Salt Lake City to Yellowstone. These early strip maps were issued when improvement of roads for automobile use, especially outside of urban areas, was just beginning. They include topographic and other details lacking in later versions which focused on the expanding road networks. The set of strip maps is accompanied by the Index to Strip Maps in California (6.7 x 21.9") and housed in the original ACSC accordion-style envelope. It is very rare to have a complete run - this is the first set we have encountered in the last 40 years.

Condition: A+
Condition code is for the strip maps, which are clean, bright and fine. The accompanying folding index map has some small wormholes in the upper third of the map but is also clean and bright. The accordion-style carrying case has minor wear.
