This large geological map of the state was compiled by H.A. Buehler, State Geologist within the Missouri Geological Survey. It presents outstanding geological detail throughout using a combination of color and pattern, identifying 25 unique types on the map with a columnar section at left. Two geological profiles are shown at bottom including Joplin to Perryville and St. Joseph to Hannibal. The base map provides additional detail including highways, railroads, cities and towns, rivers, parks, and more. Printed on two sheets and joined with linen-backing and mounted on rollers. Lithographed by A. Hoen & Company in Baltimore.
