This pictorial map is based upon a 1944 map by Don Obert and published by the Texas State Parks Board. It emphasizes the "750,000 Acres of Scenic Beauty" with small red stars indicating the 37 state parks with an index at top left. Related illustrations fill the map including wildlife, recreational opportunities, points of interest, and more. Connecting the parks is the highway network, "along which the traveler encounters more than 500 roadside parks and nine parks marking historical spots, including San Jacinto Battlefield." The verso features related text and illustrations. Self-folding (3.7 x 8.3").
