Three scarce business guides of Houston:

A. Houston Street Directory Building and Business Guide 1943, by Wilson Stationery & Printing Co., published 1943 (4.5 x 8.0"). This 164-page guide contains a small single-page map of the business section of Houston with a key at bottom locating 24 public buildings. Each page of the guide consists of advertisements on verso and street guide on recto. The guide also includes lists of subdivisions, buildings and advertisers. Printed paper wrappers. Condition: Text has some light toning. Covers have light wear. (B+)

B. Mr. Gilmore's Official Street Guide of Houston, Texas, by Gilmore's Map Company, published 1946 (4.5 x 6.0"). A detailed directory of the city that goes beyond a street guide to include bus routes, churches, schools, subdivisions and other information. Includes a small map of downtown as well as a bus route map. 256 pages, printed paper wrappers. Condition: Text has occasional light toning or staining. Covers are heavily worn and soiled. (B)

C. Houston Street Guide 1937-38, by Lawrence Bracey, published 1937 (5.3 x 7.9"). This 152-page directory consists of ads on one page and a street index on the facing page. Includes a map of the business section on the rear wrapper. Printed wrappers with string loop (for hanging). Condition: Text has occasional scattered foxing. Wrappers are chipped and worn. (B)
