This 8-page issue from 30 March 1862 includes a map of the area surrounding Winchester as well as a plan of the First Battle of Winchester. The map shows towns, roads, railroads, rivers and topography and is accompanied by an article on "The Great Battle at Winchester." The battle plan shows the positions of the Union and Rebel lines. The maps are by Waters & Son. On a full sheet of text measuring 15.6 x 22.5".
B. The Present Field of Operations [in] New-York Daily Tribune, by G. Woolworth Colton, published 1862 (7.1 x 8.0"). This 8-page issue from 15 September 1862 features a map of the region between Hagerstown, Maryland and Leesburg, Virginia, bisected by the Potomac River. Towns, roads, the mileage between towns, rivers, and railroads are all well detailed. The adjacent article discusses the Rebel invasion of Maryland as well as the Battle of Harpers Ferry. On a full sheet of text measuring 15.8 x 21.0".
