This uncommon map of ancient Europe, northern Africa, Turkey, and the Holy Land shows the region divided into three large empires: the Roman Empire, the Constantinopolitanus Empire, and the Alexandrinus Empire. Political divisions, place names, mountain ranges, and river systems are all well detailed. The decorative title cartouche features ancient figures sitting before stone columns.

A dark impression with contemporary outline color in the map and later color in the cartouche, on a bright sheet with the watermarks of a large coat of arms and the symbol for the Society of Jesus. There is very light toning along the centerfold, light offsetting of the title cartouche, and two small worm holes along the centerfold at bottom.
