This exceptional panoramic folding map is composed of multiple sheets that have been accordion-folded into book form. The bird's-eye view follows the course of the Rhine River from Mainz to Cologne, with very artistically rendered countryside including fields, forests, roads, fences, villages, buildings, homes, castles, etc. At the sides are beautiful views of the important structures along the way including castles and cathedrals. Cover titles in both English and French (front and back), 36-page traveler's guide in French, and German text on the map. Folds into stiff tan boards with maroon cloth spine (7.0 x 10.3").
Delkeskamp issued a series of plate-books and panoramas based on his tours of Germany and Switzerland. His Rhein-Panorma was first published in 1825.

Scattered foxing throughout but with no edge tears or fold separations, which is surprising for a map of this size. The accompanying text has light scattered foxing. Covers are lightly worn with minor soiling.
