The southwestern part of Switzerland is the focus of this detailed map showing Geneva, Lake Geneva, Lake Neuchatel, Lake Biel, Bern, Freiburg, and Lake Thuner. It is decorated with a strapwork cartouche incorporating the distance scale. This map is a reduced-size edition of Mercator's first map of the region, which was updated in 1636. Latin text on verso.
