An attractive issue of Nicolas Sanson's map of the ancient region between the Vistula River and the Caspian Sea. The map shows the topography but no cities and the region is divided into districts with numerous ancient names. Decorative title cartouche and small compass rose decorate the map. Dated 1654 but published in 1667.

Condition: A
A sharp impression with contemporary outline color and later color in the cartouche, on a bright sheet with a large coat of arms watermark. There is a hint of toning along the centerfold and several light damp stains along the edges of the sheet.
