This historical map shows the region explored by Hannibal during his crossing of the Alps in 218 BC during the Second Punic War. Geographic detail is limited to the major rivers, a flaming Mt. Etna, and a few place names. Adorned with a decorative cartouche.

Condition: B+

A dark impression with contemporary outline color in the map and later color in the cartouche, on a bright sheet with the watermarks of a large coat of arms and the symbol for the Society of Jesus. There is very light toning along the centerfold
