A. Alexander's Expedition: Drawn for Rollin's Antient History, by Jean Baptiste Bourguignon d'Anville, circa 1750 (16.8 x 9.9"). This map of the Middle East spans from eastern Turkey to the western edge of India and shows Alexander the Great's route through the region. Many rivers, mountains, deserts, and important cities and towns are identified. Condition: Contemporary outline color on a bright sheet, issued folding.

B. Chorographie des Conquetes d'Alexandre en Asie et en Afrique, pour l'Etude de l'Histoire Ancienne et Profane, by Etienne Andre Philippe De Pretot, circa 1787 (17.2 x 10.8"). This map of Alexander the Great's route through the Middle East includes symbols identifying the locations of battles and sieges. The title cartouche includes a vignette of an encampment. Engraved by Maurille Antoine Moithey. Issued folding with light toning and foxing along the edges of the sheet.
