This elegantly engraved chart spans from Cochin (Kochi) on India's southwestern coast to I. Junk Seylon (Phuket). Plenty of place names line the coasts, but the inland areas are left blank. All of Sri Lanka and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are shown, as is a portion of Sumatra. At the center of the chart is a fancy compass rose capped with a fleur-de-lis and radiating rhumblines. The title is enclosed in an ornate cartouche at top left.
