This is a handsome facsimile edition of Cornelis van Wytfliet's groundbreaking 1597 volume, the first separately published atlas to focus exclusively on the New World. Wytfliet's work covered the new discoveries in the Americas that did not appear in Ptolemy's Cosmographia. The atlas features 19 double-page black and white maps. It includes an in-depth bibliographical note by R.A. Skelton. Part of the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum Series of Atlases in Facsimile First Series - Volume V. Hardbound in gray cloth with gilt insignia on the front cover and a dust jacket. 192 pages.

Contents and covers are near fine with some manuscript notations in pencil in the the margins of the maps. The dust jacket has minor wear and a few short edge tears.
