This pictorial map by William Parlane was commissioned by the Department of Citizenship and Immigration, and touts Canada's "tremendous natural resources" and advanced transportation, communication and research potential. The map highlights 100 resources that "will help make Canada's future bright and prosperous" with a numbered key at right in both English and French explaining each resource. Pictorial images fill the map to illustrate various resources and the plants and factories that utilize them. Projects are color-coded to identify those that are coming into operation (red), under construction (green), and under survey (blue). Although the United States is not mentioned in the text and is mostly obscured by legends, the importance of its trade relationship with Canada is signified by the image of Uncle Sam and a Canadian Mountie playing tug-of-war with a dollar bill. Lithographed by Rolph-Clark-Stone. On verso are photographic images and additional information on Canada's resources and infrastructure.
