This unusual thematic map is featured on the front cover of the October 1938 issue of Home Arts Needlecraft magazine. Drawn by Mary Sherwood-Wright-Jones, the map celebrates the wide range of homemade arts and crafts in the United States, with small illustrations of goods representing different geographic regions including ship models, quilts, corn-husk dolls, rugs, jewelry, batiks, and much more. Further decorated by panels of illustrations at top and bottom. The magazine began publishing in 1907 as Needlecraft magazine and changed its name in the mid-1930s to reflect a changing audience. The magazine appears to be a victim of World War II, with the last publication appearing around 1940.
