Looking east from the Pacific Ocean, it covers the entire state and "portrays California's unequaled diversity of resources" with illustrations of agriculture, manufacturing, shipping, fishing, petroleum, and much more. The map prominently features recreational points of interest including Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Muir Woods, Catalina Island, with the China Clipper (first commercial transpacific flight) descending upon San Francisco.
