This highly detailed map was published as part of the USGS 15 minute quadrangle series and depicts the mountainous terrain in the vicinity of Aspen. The town's street grid pattern is presented and the lines of the Denver & Rio Grande and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe extend from the north to service the mining operations in the area, including the Park Regent Mine, Molly Gibson Mine, and Holden Works. The map was compiled from surveys taken in 1893, engraved in 1895, and reprinted here in 1901. This same map appears in the desirable 1898 Atlas to Accompany Monograph XXXI on the Geology of the Aspen District Colorado.
