This profile from Boston Harbor to Lake Erie was compiled by Amos Eaton and measures over 4.5 feet long. It presents geology, topography, and the newly constructed Erie Canal extending from Albany to Lake Erie. The profile features four inset illustrations along the top border including "Entrance of the Canal into the Hudson at Albany", "View of the Aqueduct Bridge at Little Falls", "View of the Aqueduct Bridge at Rochester" and "View of the Village of Black Rock from the Canada Shore in 1825." This engraving was originally published in A Geological and Agricultural Survey of the District Adjoining the Erie Canal in the State of New-York in 1824 and updated here to 1828. Engraved by Rawdon, Clark and Company in Albany. Printed on three sheets and joined.
