This superb pictorial map encourages tourism in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee. Although the boundary between the states is shown outside of the park, it disappears within the park in order to focus on the sites and activities to be enjoyed. The map is filled with images of the types of animals one might encounter, as well as short notes giving interesting facts. Quaint humor is also sprinkled through the map, such as an owl remarking "Sounds silly, but we haven't figured out yet why our bald mountains are bald." The roads that lead to the park are shown with occasional driving instructions, and key cities are identified with banners. Published in Asheville, North Carolina by the Miller Printing Company.
