A. Plano de la Hacienda "El Carmen" y Afectaciones que ha Sufrido de la Propiedad de Leandro Aldama... (30.2 x 40.9"). This anonymous manuscript plan depicts the El Carmen hacienda directly to the south of San Jose Ixtapa near Tehuacan in the Puebla state to the southeast of Mexico City. The map is color-coded to show the boundaries of San Jose Ixtapa, Magdalena Cuayucatepec, Santiago Miahuatlan, and Hacienda del Carmen. The title notes "impacts" suffered by the hacienda's owner, Leandro Aldama, and is likely in reference to these municipalities annexing portions of his estate. The plan shows the street-grid pattern of San Jose Ixtapa, place names, rivers, and elevation by contour lines. Drawn on onionskin. Condition: There is some minor soiling and an edge chip confined to the top right blank margin. (B+)
B. Plano de la Hacienda de S Francisco dea Chapulco Propiedad de los Sres. Aldama Anos..., dated 1871 (33.5 x 24.2"). This detailed manuscript plan of San Francisco Chapulco hacienda is located adjacent to the El Carmen hacienda above in the Tehuacan district of Puebla. The meticulously drawn map is keyed to a legend locating fields, forests, pastures, gardens, rivers, houses, and more. A table adjacent to the legend provides additional detail for various tracts of land located on the map. Compiled based on data from the Rosenzweig engineering firm. Drawn on onionskin. Condition: On a clean sheet with one short edge tear confined to the top right blank margin. (A)
