A. Ionian Isles and Greece, by John Tallis, from Illustrated Atlas and Modern History of the World, circa 1850 (12.6 x 9.8"). This handsome and decorative steel engraved map is embellished with fine vignettes: Ancient War Chariot; Greek Corsairs Off Corfu; Modern Greek; Temple of Jupiter Olympus at Athens; and two wrestlers. The map covers all of Greece including its numerous islands. With inset maps of Corfu and Stampalia. Surrounded by a delicately engraved decorative border. The illustrations were drawn by A.H. Wray and engraved by J.B. Allen; the map was drawn and engraved by J. Rapkin. Condition: Contemporary outline color with light toning and soiling that is mostly confined to the blank margins.
B. Grecia, by Hippolyte Caillet, circa 1860 (11.4 x 8.7"). This French atlas map includes place names and topographical detail. A nice vignette below the title presents a view of columns and ruins. Condition: Light toning.
