This anthropomorphic map depicts various regions in Italy as human visages. A color-coded key at bottom identifies the regions. This map was the winning entry in a map-making contest for the children's magazine Giornalino della Domenica. The weekly magazine was founded in 1906 by Luigi Bertelli, also known as Vamba (a name taken from Walter Scott's Ivanhoe), and continued publication until 1927. Italian text on verso.
