A handsome map of the Mediterranean islands, the larger map depicting Crete and three smaller maps of Corsica, the Ionian Islands, and Sardinia. Ortelius compiled the map from both classical and contemporary sources, including Strabo and Plinius. Strapwork cartouches, a ship and sea monsters ornament the map. Latin text on verso.

Condition: A
An excellent impression with full contemporary color on a bright sheet with the crossed arrows watermark commonly found on Ortelius maps. There is very light soiling confined to the blank margins.
