This title page appeared facing the portrait of Ortelius that appeared in Theatrum Orbis Terrarum beginning in 1579. A small globe centered on the eastern hemisphere (measuring 2.4 x 2.4") is featured at the center of the page, showing large continents at the North and South Poles and just a few place names. The globe is surrounded by the Lain phrase Contemno, et Orno: Mente, Manu, which translates as “I divide and order with mind and hand.” This edition was printed in 1609 by Robert Bruneau in Antwerp.
