This is a handsome facsimile of Lienhart Holle's edition of Ptolemy's Cosmographia, originally published in Ulm in 1482, with cartography by Nicolaus Germanus. In addition to the 27 original Ptolemaic maps, Germanus amended 5 modern maps showing France, Italy, Palestine, Spain, and the Northern Countries, including Greenland. These 32 double-page maps are reproduced here in black and white. It includes an in-depth bibliographical note by R.A. Skelton. Part of the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum Series of Atlases in Facsimile First Series - Volume I. 280 pp. Folio. Hardbound in gray cloth with gilt insignia on the cover, title on spine, and a dust jacket.

Contents are very good. Hinges are starting, and the corners are slightly bumped. Dust jacket is chipped with some shelf wear.
