This well-produced facsimile atlas of The English Pilot - The Fourth Book (originally published in 1689) is the first volume from the fourth series of the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum collection. William Fisher and John Thornton's volume was the first English sea-atlas to focus exclusively on American waters. It features 15 double-page and 5 full-page charts, all in black & white. 148 pages, with bibliographical note by Coolie Verner. Elephant folio, hardbound in red cloth boards with gilt insignia on cover, title on spine, and an illustrated dust jacket.

Contents are very good with some short fold separations on the Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey chart. There is light shelf wear and the corners are slightly bumped. The dust jacket is chipped, torn, and soiled, with some tape repairs.
