This is the first state of this finely engraved map covering the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Newfoundland with excellent depiction of the fishing banks complete with soundings. Names Isle Royal and Anticosti, shows part of Nova Scotia, and locates the village of Sauvage.

A crisp impression on a watermarked sheet with light toning along the edges of the sheet.
