This untitled map shows the organized portion of the United States extending to beyond the Mississippi River to include Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, and a large Iowa Territory stretching between the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. Mexico occupies the southwest including Texas, though neither is named. The border with Canada along the 49th parallel stops at the Rocky Mountains. An explanation at top right summarizes the various treaties and resulting boundaries the United States made with Great Britain, France and Spain. Produced by Graham's Lithography in Washington.
