This uncommon double-hemisphere world map is filled with notations regarding geography and the discoveries of various explorers. Geographic detail is limited to major mountains and rivers with only a few cities noted. The geographic information and many of the notations are copied directly from Le Sage's map of the world. A chart at left shows the relative heights of mountains around the world, and a similar chart at right shows the relative length of the major rivers in Europe. The map is flanked by columns of text describing the different peoples of the world. Engraved by Giovanni Valerio Pasquali. Printed on two sheets, joined as issued. Full sheet with Italian text measures 39.9 x 15.9".
