This vintage tablecloth map of the state features a large star at center and is further decorated by scenes of the Alamo, cowboys, oil wells, cattle, cotton, and the Seal of Texas. In Pamela Glasell's Collectors' Guide to Vintage Souvenir Tablecloths and Linens, she writes that state maps on tablecloths became popular in the 1940s. She includes a very similar version of this tablecloth on page 112 of her book, describing it as "great cowboy graphics and only a vague reference to the oil wells that would become Texas’ largest industry in the 1950s and 1960s.”
