This lot contains two Texas land deeds involving William "Cow" Cooper's family:

The first deed is dated May 30, 1855 and details a sale between Mary Parker and William Cooper. The sale was for a 250-acre parcel for $1,100 in Fort Bend County on the east side of the Brazos River. The land was previously granted to Nathan Brookshire by the Mexican Government and subsequently held by E.H. Kemp and James McCleod before Parker acquired the tract. Signed by May Parker, George D. Parkes, Edwin Waller and Nathan Andrus (?), Clerk for Fort Bend County. Condition: Folded with dampstains and cello tape along the top sheet edge (C+)

The second deed is dated October 15th, 1856 and records a transaction between Matilda Cross and Enos Cooper. The agreement was for a 640-acre tract for $2,160 in Falls County about 12 miles from the Falls of the Brazos River. Signed by Cross, Stephen Fuqua and Samuel Barclay, Clerk for Falls County. Condition: Folded with light staining and some tape remnants along the sheet edges. (B)
