This nicely engraved map covers the ancient region of the Saronic Gulf. It depicts the area north and east of the gulf with Attica, Megaris, and a part of the island of Euboea. The cities of Athens, Megaris, and Thebes are prominently located. The map was published in an imaginary travel journal by Jean Jacques Barthelemy, a historical fiction set in ancient Greece with a title that translates to The Travels of Anacharsis the Younger in Greece.
