This engraving is centered on a double-hemisphere globe illustrating the climatic zones and is surrounded by several diagrams showing the correlation between the earth and the sky. For his Nouvel Atlas, Leth made close copies of Jacques Chiquet's maps published in Le Nouveau et Curieux Atlas in 1719.
