This map is for dog lovers and shows all of the activities that dogs dream of doing, such as digging in flower beds, tracking mud with their paws, getting free bones, chewing newspapers, eating steaks, chasing cats, and, of course, biting the dog catcher. Instead of a distance scale, this map features a music scale. On verso are photographic images of items suitable for a children's room, including Jaro Hess' map The Land of Make Believe.
John Held Jr. (1889-1958) was an American cartoonist who is best known for his 1920's portrayals of dancing (including the Charleston), driving, playing sports, and other popular activities of the era.
