This is a facsimile of one of the most important publications on Africa issued in the 16th century. The maps included were surprisingly accurate for their era and were partly drawn on a special modification of the Donis projection. It features a bibliographical note by R.A. Skelton. Part of the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum Series of Atlases in Facsimile Second Series - Volume I. 400 pages, including 12 double-page maps. Hardbound in tan cloth with gilt insignia on the front cover and titles in gilt on a black ground along the spine, and a dust jacket.

Contents are very good with minor toning and a bit of dampstaining along the top edge of the text block, not affecting the text. Hinges are starting. Covers are slightly bumped. Dust jacket has light wear and tears along its edges.
