This is the updated and expanded version of Edward C. Papenfuse and Joseph M. Coale III's The Hammond-Harwood House - Atlas of Historical Maps of Maryland, 1608-1908 published in 1982. The volume traces the cartographic history of Maryland from its appearance on John Smith's 1608 Virginia map into the early twentieth century. Features full-color reproductions of over 250 historical maps, including a number that have never been published before. 223 pages. Hardbound in blue cloth with slipcase in original publisher shrink wrap.
