This superb map of Wales is based on Ortelius' map, which was created by Humphrey Lhuyd, an antiquary and philosopher who is regarded as the first Welsh cartographer. At bottom left are the names of the regions in Latin, English and Welsh. The map is elegantly embellished with three strapwork cartouches, a sea monster, sailing ships, and a compass rose. Blank verso.
