This beautiful map of the Burgundy area, best known for its famous wines, features prominently engraved mountains, forests, and fortifications. It extends to include Geneva. There is a decorative dedication to William III of Great Britain at top left, accompanied by the royal coat of arms. At bottom right there is an elaborate title cartouche with the French coat of arms and numerous allegorical figures, among them a putto with a bunch of grapes and the female personification of Renown. The key identifies major towns and cities of various sizes, abbeys, priories, regions ruled by William III, and more.
