An early map of Switzerland with north oriented at the bottom of the chart. The map was based on the work of Aegidius Tschudi, a historian of the Swiss Confederation. The title is engraved onto the top of an unusual three dimensional title box. Latin text on verso.

Condition: A

A dark impression with attractive color on paper with the crossed arrows watermark common on Ortelius maps. There is minor toning along the centerfold at top and some dampstains in the top blank margin, well away from the image.
