This handsome and uncommon map covers the area around Basel, which is shown in miniature plan form. Plenty of towns and cities are located, and there is excellent detail of the region's forests, mountains, and rivers, most notably the Rhine. North is oriented to the bottom of the page. There is a decorative title cartouche at top and a distance scale cartouche at bottom left with a trio of putti surveyors. French text on verso.

A crisp impression with contemporary color. There are a few spots of foxing, minor toning, and a soft horizontal crease across the middle of the map image.
