This lovely regional map is is oriented to the west, surrounded by a frame-style border, and embellished by three ornate cartouches. The cartography is based on Marcus Secznagel. This is the second of Ortelius' maps of the region surrounding Salzburg, which replaced the first plate in 1592. This second plate is less common than the first plate. Latin text on verso, which includes a hand colored initial.
References: Van den Broecke #108.

A fine impression on paper with the crossed arrows watermark commonly found on Ortelius maps. There are a few archivally repaired edge tears, a centerfold separation in the top margin that just crosses the neatline, and marginal soiling.
