This charming travel guide of Italy was created by Professor Giovanni De Agostini and includes 21 pictorial maps of Italy and its regions by Vsevolode Nicouline. Each regional map includes illustrations of the people, important sites, resources, and key cities in the region. The map of Italy is divided into regions with shows the coat of arms for each region, with decorative embellishments in the surrounding seas. Each map is accompanied by a page of text describing the region. The travel guide includes a 4-page forward. The pictorial cover features the map of Italy that is also included in the guide. Published by Societa Anonima Editrice "Italgeo." This example is complete, but is dis-bound with pictorial paper covers.

Vsevolode Nicouline (1890-1968) was a Russian painter and illustrator who immigrated to Italy in 1920, where he became known for his book illustrations. Professor Giovanni De Agostini (1863-1941) was an Italian publisher, geographer and cartographer who founded the "Istituto Geografico Italiano del dott. G. De Agostini & C." in Rome in 1901, which published numerous cartographic and educational works.

The maps are clean and bright. The text and covers have light soiling. The maps and text are disbound except for the last map (Corsica). There is a previous owner's bookplate on front free-endpaper.
