This is a very decorative map covering the region from Naples in the upper left to the Golfo di Policastro in the south, including the popular tourist destination of the Amalfi Coast. A dandy surveyor stands beside the scale of miles and merfolk flank the grape-laden title cartouche alluding to the fertile countryside and its maritime prowess. Galley ships, a compass rose and delicate calligraphy further decorate the sheet. Dutch text on verso, published between 1642-48.

Condition: A
A dark impression with full contemporary color. There is paper tape along the edges of the sheet on verso, repairing some chips, tears and paper weakness due to dampstains at right and left, well outside of the image.
