Fine copper engraved title page to the narrative of Pedro da Nhaya's voyage to East Africa in 1505. It was the voyage that established the Portuguese trade dominance on the East African coast. The illustration, engraved by J. Goeree, depicts allegorical figures examining a globe centered on the North Pole. Overall page dimensions given, image is 7 x 5".
